YOUR GUIDE – Sue Adstrum

A PhD-qualified anatomist, physiotherapist, and holistic bodywork practitioner with a deep focus on fascia – the three-dimensional web of soft connective tissue that permeates our bodies and plays a crucial role in the development and healing of most pain and health problems.

As an integrative anatomist, body therapist, and gracefully aging body owner I’m dedicated to empowering individuals to understand and optimise their body’s innate potential for wellness. Through my unique approach, I blend a contemporary understanding of human anatomy (the ‘living wetsuit’ concept) with a variety of safe and natural body care practices, with the aim of helping you take a more active role in your everyday health care journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

The term ‘wetsuit’ refers to the concept of ‘the living wetsuit’ – a dynamic and interconnected ‘garment of flesh’ that envelops and links all aspects of your body, including its bones, muscles, organs, tissues, cell, and biological molecules.

Understanding our body’s anatomical structure influences how we care for it.

Our bodies are naturally whole. They come in one piece and function as a cohesive unit. Yet, when anatomists scientifically dissect them – a process that damages the fascia (soft connective tissue) – our bodies appear to be made up of many different ‘body parts.’

Wetness Wellness workshops are founded on a modern integrative anatomical model – ‘the living wetsuit’ – which recognizes the body’s interconnectedness as well as it’s individual components. This innovative approach allows us to combine contemporary medical knowledge with a range of natural body care practices that you can safely use at home to alleviate discomfort and enhance your overall health and vitality.

Our Wetsuit Wellness workshops offer a unique approach to well-being that focuses on nurturing your whole and fascia-including body, not just its muscles and joints. Unlike typical exercise classes, which can be harsh on aging bodies and lead to injuries, our workshops prioritise a variety of gentle and safe self-care practices.

Led by Sue Adstrum, a highly knowledgeable therapist with nearly 50 years of healthcare experience, our workshops provide tailored instruction to address individual attendees’ health concerns and conditions. Sue’s extensive background allows her to guide participants in safely boosting their health and well-being at home and becoming more involved in their individual health journeys.

So, if you’re looking for a wellness course that emphasises holistic self-care and gentle preparation for exerciser, our Wetsuit Wellness workshops may be perfect for you.
